Growing up, my favorite breakfast was a thick slice of toast generously smeared with crunchy peanut butter, topped with chunks of banana and a hearty drizzle of honey. Not much has changed, I still love sweet toast for breakfast on-the-go, but I am learning to branch out a bit.

Ingredients
- 1 thick slice bread
- 1 to 2 tablespoons spread (like sweetened cream cheese, goat cheese, peanut butter or nutella)
- 2 to 3 tablespoons topping (like apple slices, strawberry slices, apricot jam or toasted almonds)
- Pinch of garnish (like cinnamon-sugar, fresh basil, cacao nibs or toasted coconut)
Instructions
- Toast bread in toaster until desired doneness. Add spread, topping and garnish as desired. Serve warm.
