Did you eat all your fruits and veggies today? I did! But, last weekend? Nope. Nada. Not. even. close. Unless, you count the bourbon and burgers! Yeah, I didn’t think so.
In an attempt to recover from my poor food choices last weekend, I’m eating all the fruit and veggies in sight. This green smoothie has been a favorite for a long time, and it’s the perfect balance of fruit and veggies to make it satisfying and delicious. Seriously, I feel better already!
I always use granny smith apples in my smoothies to help keep the amount of natural sugar in check, plus I love the tart flavor! Think of the fruit as a set of training wheels for green smoothies. It balances out the bite of the veggies and sweetens the smoothie. The added fruit is great for beginners, but once you get used to the green veggie flavor, you can cut back or leave them out completely.
