Finding the perfect summer cocktail is hard. It has to be light, refreshing, and flavorful. Yet, interesting enough to want another glass. It also has to be cool enough to keep you from melting on a hot summer day.
Sure, white wine is a good option but it gets boring. Sangria is more of a special occasion drink and we can’t really drink margaritas all summer long now can we? Well, now you can add a quick and easy French Gimlet into your summer drink rotation.
Elderflower liqueur and Lillet are both French and are great additions to cocktails. You should be able to find them at most well stocked liquor stores. Elderflower is sweet, slightly floral and pairs well with champagne and cocktails. The Lillet is a French apéritif wine that can be served over ice or mixed into a cocktail… like this gimlet!
