Ingredients
Scale
3/4 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 large egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
2 cups dark chocolate chips
Instructions
Heat the oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, beat the butter, both sugars, vanilla and egg with an electric mixer on medium speed (or with a wooden spoon) until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour, baking soda and salt (the dough will be stiff). Stir in the chocolate chips.
For each cookie, scoop dough with a level measuring tablespoon. Place cookies 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly with a fork.
Bake 10 to 13 minutes or until light brown (the centers will be soft). Cool 1 to 2 minutes on cookie sheets, then remove cookies to a cooling rack, using a turner. Cool cookie sheets 10 minutes between batches.
