Have you ever been to Chicago? Just last weekend, I popped over for a suuuuper quick day trip with my sister. We got up earlier than I truly ever want to again, loaded up the car and headed to Chicago.
We were on an adventure to pick up a puppy dog that my sister adopted. His name is Bob, a fuzzy, fluffy, silly looking pup. He’s a puli, a Hungarian sheep herding dog that has super curly hair that naturally turns into dreadlocks. Just look at that funny face!
Now there are two silly mops running around my sister’s house! Bob is enjoying his new family with his best bud Dudley. What a pair!
A full-day road trip requires snacks, lots of them! Some of my very favorite snacks are easy, healthy and will keep you focused on all the fun things you’ll be doing on your adventure.
My 5 Favorite Road Trip Snacks:
- Drinks: I’m not a fan of soda, so I usually bring a couple of cans of sparkling water to keep hydrated.
- Fruit: Fresh fruit is always a must! Apples, clementines, tangerines, bananas, grapes are all the original fruit snack and perfectly portable.
- Popcorn: Best. Snack Ever. I love popcorn and consider it a totally acceptable meal replacement. You can pick it up pre-popped or pop it yourself and customize the flavor.
- Snack Mix: Crunchy, chocolaty, sweet or savory. Throw together any mix of your favorite bite-sized nuggets for an irresistible snack that you can eat by the handful.
- Energy Bites: No-bake snacks made with gluten free oats, dates and ginger are easy, flavorful and delicious!
Eat up and drive safe!
