Salty pretzels and crunchy nuts make this Bourbon and Honey Caramel Corn perfectly sweet and salty for a delicious food gift of tasty snack!
Welp, once again September (aka: magical Bourbon and Honey month) is coming to an end. Did you get your fill of bourbon spiked and honey sweetened recipes? Yeah, me neither! Don’t worry; I’ve got an endless supply of inspiration for one of the best flavor combinations around!
Today though, I’ve made you a sweet and spiked snack of caramel corn! A bit of reduced bourbon, a squeeze of honey, fluffy popcorn kernels, salty pretzels and crunchy peanuts make up this uber delicious snack.
The reduced bourbon gives the caramel sauce a deep, rich and slightly nutty flavor while the pretzels and peanuts balance the sweetness from the honey. If you like salted caramel, then this is you new thing!
The caramel corn goes into the oven for a bit to dry out the honey making it a crispy, crunchy and only slightly sticky treat but if it’s humid then the honey will make the caramel corn a bit sticky to the touch. Store the caramel corn in a ziplock bag and snack to your hearts content!
