Boozy, frosty and super refreshing these Bourbon and Honey Melon Balls with fresh mint and lime are the perfect summer happy hour snack.
Yep, I’ve gone and done it! I’ve turned an innocent summer treat into a boozy and bourbon-y adult-only happy hour snack. Those cute melon balls never had a chance! Grab your melon baller kids folks over 21, you’re definitely going to want to get in on this action!
When happy hour calls, the last thing you want to do itstackle a complicated recipe. Especially when you’d rather be catching up with your buds in the sun on a beach chair. This is the lazy girls guide to a fancy schmancy happy hour only the smallest amount of effort.
The beauty of this boozy happy hour treat is that you can make it up to 2 weeks ahead and just keep the melon balls in the freezer until your friends pop over for a drink. You really don’t have to freeze the melon, it would be awesome fresh too. But, for a frosty and super refreshing treat, freezing the melon is the way to go!
I picked up a colorful trio of melons but any combination would work in this spiked recipe. A melon baller is a nice-to-have but a small rounded measuring spoon could work or you can break all the rules and cut the melon into cubes (gasp!).
